While good user experience design has the power to transform lives through technology, HFI's role does not stop there. We are committed to making a positive difference for the community, through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, that identifies and supports initiatives in areas of social relevance. Over the years, our CSR initiatives have helped institutions such as Assema, The Indian Council for Mental Health Skills and Ability School, SHARE etc. One of its commitment has been to the Aasha Foundation, a school for students with special needs in Pune, India. |

HFI recently participated in the 2011 Joy of Giving Week. After researching several organizations, we decided to help an orphanage called Baby Sarah. HFI's representative, Udita Shah, visited the orphanage and met with its director, a young man named Kartikeyan. We fulfilled a need they had by donating a washing machine. Udita tells the story of her visit to the Baby Sarah Orphanage. |

HFI and the Aasha FoundationFor the last couple of years, HFI has been helping Anand Chabukswar, a practitioner of Arts Based Therapy (ABT) in his efforts to provide alternative education to students with cognitive/ psychomotor impairments. Believing in his vision of using creative methods to make these students rise above their limitations, both innate and socially imposed, HFI provided some of the required funding for his efforts. With Anand's spirited presentations, demonstrating the dramatic results that his methods had on the children, HFIers from the Mumbai office were also inspired to go beyond funding and make a difference at a more personal level. Other CSR ActivitiesThese are few of the CSR activities conducted by HFI in the past:
The result was an office-wide activity where HFIers used their skills in creative design to develop teaching aids for the students. Flash-cards, puppets and papier-mâché dolls were amongst the props made to help demonstrate various concepts. That's not all, several people from HFI Mumbai actually went to the School to deliver the props and see them being used. The students' reaction was overwhelming. They were visibly excited at receiving the gifts and soon demonstrated that they were able to grasp the intended concepts. Their teachers were equally delighted and expressed their appreciation most eloquently. We know we touched some hearts that day, and we helped make a difference. Anand recently told us that his students even asked about their friends from HFI when they heard about the terror strikes in Mumbai. |

Amrinder does the right thing See the frail boy, limping about with one hand held lifelessly close to the body. His slightly nasal drawling speech is drowned in the middle of a chaotic bunch of bigger and louder boys.
